Sharon Kopp is an incredibly thoughtful and introspective friend who is always curious about the world around her. Sharon has two daughters who are amazing reflections of her and dear friends to our family. I love listening to Sharon’s wisdom and am so happy to share her positive outlook on how to lead with kindness.
Is there one piece of advice that you wish your 9 year old self would give you today that would make an impact on your career?
Always be curious, lead with kindness and work smarter not harder.
Was there a time you messed up and felt like you’d failed? how did you bounce back?
Yes I have failed and you will learn more from your “failures” than your successes, I bounced back by realizing I still had a lot to learn and I had to be accountable for my own actions.
How did you learn to embrace risk-taking?
With the love of my family I knew I would always be “ok” I grew from risk taking and embraced it by only taking a risk when I was ready to grow, learn or change.
What’s the most important leadership lesson you’ve learned and how has it proven invaluable?
Treat people with kindness and have integrity and this will pay back more than any salary ever. For me mostly everyone I have every worked with would work with me again and that says a lot about I how I have treated people.
What is the most fun part of your job?
Learning new things about different industries and meeting new people and hearing their stories and learning about their career and passions.
