I am a loyal reader of Suleika Jaouad’s column “Life, Interrupted” in the New York Times and devoured her book “Between Two Kingdoms” last year. Suleika writes and speaks on isolation, creativity, survivorship and well-being. She recently started a global creativity project called the Isolation Journals, which deeply moved me. She writes about her experience facing cancer and healing a second time around in this New York Times article; her continued focus on gratitude, connection to others and the healing power of creativity are incredibly inspiring and sobering. This quote, in particular, spoke to me on a very personal level.
The popular writer of the “Life, Interrupted” column shares an update on her health and discusses how creativity and connection help her cope with life’s challenges.
